You run, and as you do your heads explodes with heat, the smell of roses fills the air. You pass a couple and they scream. You don’t turn to look at what’s scaring them. The boy is closing in on you, you can feel it.
The heat in your head builds and the screams increase. Suddenly, the heat stops and the flowers fade. You stumble, your first ungraceful move since you can remember. The edges of your vision fade, and the world goes black.
You wake up. You’re in a park. A boy in black is hunched over you.
Where are you? What’s going on?
“Who are you?” you ask.
“I’m Peter. Your friend.”
He helps you stand, and then suddenly pulls you into a hug. You feel a pinch at your neck and realize he’s stuck you with a needle.
“C’mon, let’s get you home,” he says as the world goes dark again.
