8 Questions with Gayle Forman

Gayle Forman is the author of Sisters In Sanity (2007) and If I Stay (2009 NAIBA Book of the Year Awards and a 2010 Indie Choice Honor Award winner). She’s also written for Seventeen Magazine, Details Magazine, Elle, Jane Magazine, Cosmoplitan, Glamour, and The Nation.

She is currently working on Where She Went, which is the sequel to If I Stay, and will be available April 5, 2011.

Figment was lucky enough to get the chance to ask Gayle some unusual questions, so read on!

(1) Do you capitalize and punctuate your text messages?

Yes i do. Oops. Make that: Yes, I do.

(2) Do you have a favorite word?

Sleep. Well, that’s my favorite concept these day. My favorite word is a phrase: “good night.”

(3) If you had to describe yourself using inanimate objects, which ones would you choose?

Well, books obviously.

(4) Who is your fictional crush?

Rochester from Jane Eyre even though he is so obviously a Bad Boyfriend.

(5) What’s your favorite conspiracy theory?

Obama being a Muslim socialist who wants to kill us all with a healthcare plan. That one makes me laugh so much. Except when it makes me cry.

(6) What’s your favorite font?

I like Helevetica for its cleanliness but I only write in Times New Roman.

(7) What were you like in high school?

The Weird Girl

(8) Who’s your favorite villain?

Currently, Mitch McConnell. I really like the part of the story when the villain gets his ass kicked.
