  1. Congrats to everyone! I’m so excited that my story, The Carrier, made it on this list! Thanks so much to everyone who voted for it. πŸ˜€

  2. Congratulations to everyone who made the final list and to all the others who worked so hard but didn’t make it through this time. I’m a parent simply observing the process; I love this website!

  3. Wow, I didn’t expect to be a finalist. I really have to thank everyone who entered, and everyone who voted. I’m so excited that someone famous will be reading my writing. I feel like I’m floating. *sigh*

  4. I still can’t believe I’m a finalist! I just keep coming back to this page and staring, haha. Thank you so much to everybody who voted for me! You have no idea how incredibly much this means to me! This absolutely made my life! <3333

  5. Wait, Tia Richardson won? She posted on the forums all the time, wanting people to heart her story, and people even commented on her story for the dystopiancontest saying she shouldn’t do that.
Most of the contests are about popularity these days. Don’t mean to sound bitter or mean (I didn’t even enter the contest) but this wasn’t fair. πŸ™

    • Hi Maya

We definitely understand your frustration about this. But when dealing with self-promotion, we do send out warning emails explaining the rules to that person. If they stop self-promoting, their entry remains valid. The decision was also made by Lauren Oliver, who chose her entry out of the top finalists. Please feel free to email me at Maria@Figment.com if you have any other questions or concerns.
