For the Ripped from the New York Times: Inspiring Lives contest, we asked you to write a story inspired by a sentence from the “Lives” section of the New York Times Magazine. Congratulations to these 13 finalist entries, which will be sent to the staff of the New York Times Learning Network for judging; the staff’s top five picks will appear on the Figment homepage and the New York Times Learning Network website!
