*Balloons!* *Confetti!* *Revelry!*
Today, Figment is turning one year old! *That blower thing that unrolls and always gets mysteriously damp and stops working*
We’ve got a lot planned for our birthday, which is going to be themed. The theme, of course, is PURE AWESOMENESS.
Not to get all sappy on you, but we want to thank you all for being the best part of Figment. You’re probably all, “Aww! Shucks, Figment.” But it’s true. You guys are our Wilson. You complete us. It’s not over. It still isn’t over.
Our best birthday present? We’re publishing our first book! Dream School by Blake Nelson (which you can read an excerpt of now on Figment) is the sequel to Nelson’s perennial classic Girl, which was made into a movie starring Selma Blair and Summer Phoenix. It’s our first time publishing a real, hold-in-your-hands book! And we love it a lot. So ask for Dream School for Christmas, or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, or Generic Winter Holiday Day.
We’ve got some other PURE AWESOMENESS-themed stuff coming your way too! We’ll be having some party games in the General/Random forum at 6 p.m. We’ll also be tweeting out Figment- and Birthday-related facts on Twitter. We’ll be sharing our birthday cards on Facebook. And some of the moderators (Ellen, Rebecca, Adam, Emily, and Boswell) will be changing their profile pictures to reflect Figment’s celebration! But best of all–BEST OF ALL–in the office, we’ve got donkeys making balloon animal donkeys!
So snag a slice of cake and pin the tail on the donkey! It’s Figment’s birthday–let’s toast to many more!
