  1. Can we take a different interpretation of the prompt. It says big break and most people would thing of that as winning something, but could we look at it litterally as in something large breaks?

  2. Help! My entry was submitted 10 hours ago, but it hasn’t showed up. What happened? (I published, tagged it as smashcontest and everything!)

  3. Hello,

I tried to tag my piece with SMASHContest and published it, but a confirmation of my entry will not pop up. Can someone help me how to fix this? Thanks!

    • Hi Jillian,

As long as you can find your entry among those that show up on the contest page, it has been successfully entered in the contest.

  4. Can you edit the story once you submit it (until the deadline)? If yes, I assume the entry on the competition page would change accordingly?

    Thanks,
    Lah

  5. I wrote something for this contest (it’s titled Rain), but I don’t think it fits the prompt well. It’s about a girl in an abusive relationship who gets out, and is then able to nurture herself and her talents… but do you think that counts as a breakthrough?

If you don’t, could I write another entry for the contest? I would remove the tag from Rain so it was entered in the contest – would that be okay?

    • Hi Chocolate,

That sounds fine, but if you would like to write something else, you may delete your current entry and write a new one.

  6. I’m getting a bit confused with this contest. You cannot promote your story for hearts. But the top 10 most hearted books would make it as finalists. So how do I get hearts?

  7. Hi!

I submitted a writing “This is it…” to the Smash contest, and I was wondering if I would be able to modify a few details of it. By details, I mean the description, or the cover. Also, would it be possible if I could change a couple of details in my actual writing as well? I don’t want to change it dramatically, where almost everything is changed, but I just want to change some of the puntuation.

  8. Hi,
I just created a figment account a few days ago and I submitted a writing into this contest. Since I don’t have many followers and I am new to this website, will you please give my piece a fair chance to win even if it doesn’t have enough hearts?
    Thanks,
    Vivian

  9. Hey guys (:

No pressure or anything, but when do we find out about the winners, or who the official top 10 are, or whatever. This is my first contest I entered, so I’m not sure how long the process takes. Just wondering! Thanks!
