The Max McTrue Flash Fiction Contest Winners

Figs, we were so impressed by your thoughtful, funny, and well-written entries to the Max McTrue Flash Fiction contest! We sent the top 10 entries to Kim Culbertson herself for judging, and she chose her favorites from that select pool. There were so many excellent entries–congratulations to all who entered!

Due to an error, four winners rather than three were contacted. But lucky you! That means one extra (fabulous!) entrant will also receive a free download of The Liberation of Max McTrue and a custom-made journal from Kim.

The grand prize goes to . . .

The Owl Girl by Arkady Adler!

Kim says: “Such solid, clean writing with great voice and dialogue.”

Congrats, Arkady! You’ve won a free download of The Liberation of Max McTrue, a custom-made journal, and a 30-minute manuscript review with Kim herself!

And the runners up  . . .

The Escape Artist by E.R. Warren

Kim says: “Amazing first line and much backstory in such a short time–believable, immediate world building.”

The Best Kind of Birthday Party by Laura Kenney

Kim says: “Whimsical and clear, detailed writing.”

Headtrip by Destiny Howell

Kim says: “I laughed out loud, great voice and structure.”

Congrat, E.R., Laura, and Destiny! You’ve each won a free download of The Liberation of Max McTrue and a custom-made journal!
