Daily Theme Inspired by Jeanette Winterson!

Today’s Daily Theme is so literary we can hardly stand it. When Figment was holding court at the American Library Association mid-winter conference, we bumped into Whitbread Prize-winning author Jeanette Winterson, who wrote her first novel–Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit–when she was only 23. Jeanette has had an illustrious career–one that has included writing for The New York Times and Harper’s Bazaar and a much-ballyhooed memoir (just released Tuesday!): Why Be Happy When You Could be Normal? When we saw her at ALA we couldn’t help but ask for her best advice for young writers. And here’s what she gave us:
