LA Times Book Awards Flash-Fiction Contest Day Two

DANG, who are those attractive, hilarious people? Oh, no one . . . just the comedians reading Figmenter work aloud on April 21 at The L.A. Times Festival of Books where Figment will receive the L.A. Times Books Prizes Innovator’s Award. And in honor of our honor, we’re hosting a week of flash fiction contests right here. Get your clown noses on and your whoopie cushions out, Figs: it’s classic comedy gold time!

Today’s Prompt:

Write a story in 400 words or fewer that includes a fake mustache. Tag your entry LATimesFestival and ComedyFlash2. You have until April 18, 2012 at 11a.m. ET to enter.

How to enter:

1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on
3. Start a new writing of 400 words or fewer.
4. Tag your writing with LATimesFestival and ComedyFlash2 on the Details tab.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.

Prizes will be awarded to one winner each day. Each winner will receive a classic comedy prop with which to amuse and delight your friends!

    I just wanted to know when the winner will be announced and how?? It’s funny the entry period ended RIGHT now where I am! I didn’t even realize! lol:)
