LA Times Book Awards Flash-Fiction Contest Day Four

Welcome to day four of the LA Times Book Award Flash-Fiction contest. You jokesters have been delivering comedy-prop inspired stories all week, helping to celebrate Figment’s win of the L.A. Times Books Prizes Innovator’s Award, which will be awarded at The L.A. Times Festival of Books on April 21, 2012. Where, it just so happens, the hilarious professional comedians above will be reading funny Figs’ work aloud!

Keep the fun going–enter a short piece for a chance to win a classic comedy prop!

Today’s Prompt:

Write a story in 400 words or fewer that includes a rubber chicken. Tag your entry LATimesFestival and ComedyFlash4. You have until April 20, 2012 at 11a.m. ET to enter.

How to enter:

1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on Figment.com.
3. Start a new writing of 400 words or fewer.
4. Tag your writing with LATimesFestival and ComedyFlash4 on the Details tab.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.
