If you’re a person with eyes who uses them to read books and watch movies (and stare lovingly at ridiculously handsome celebrities and tempting beach vacation shots), then it’s a fair bet that you’ve heard about The Lucky One in recent weeks. The Nicholas-Sparks-novel-turned-Hollywood-feature-film has all the makings of our new favorite movie: romantic twists and turns, suspenseful storytelling, and of course, Zac Efron in all of his stoic, chiseled, scruffy glory.
Nicholas Sparks‘s 14th book, The Lucky One (read an excerpt on Figment now for a limited time) tells the story of Logan Thibault, an ex-Marine who, after finding the photo of an unknown woman while on tour in Iraq, embarks on a quest of epic proportions in order to find her. Inspired by his journey we asked you to write a story in which a character commences a quest of his or her own.
Though the entry period has now closed, there’s still plenty of time to vote for your favorite submissions. If you like a story and think the author deserves some major swag (oh, and there is swag to be had–books and posters signed by Nicholas Sparks and the Zef himself!), make sure you get your hearts in no later than 6p.m. ET on May 5, 2012.
