Vote in the Springsweet Contest!

In The Springsweet by Saundra Mitchell, Zora’s life is ruined by the death of her fiancé. She doesn’t want to go into society. She doesn’t want to meet a new man. She wants to run away.

Inspired by the idea that a new place can bring about renewal, we challenged you to write a story about a character who leaves his or her home and moves.

The entry period is now over, but you can still vote on your favorite stories for another week! Voting will run until 6:00 p.m. ET on May 9 at which point the ten most-hearted entries will be sent to The Springsweet author Saundra Mitchell who will choose the three winners.

First place will receive of copy of The Springsweet, a copy of The Vespertine, and a $15 Amazon gift card. Second place will receive a copy of The Springsweet, a copy of The Vespertine, and a Figment tote bag. Third place will receive a copy of The Springsweet and a copy of The Vespertine.

Get voting, and good luck to everyone who entered!

  1. I wrote a story but my computer does not allow me to comment… for some reason anything besides this page. Please if you would read my entry “To Run” It would mean a lot!

  2. Okay, I tried recopying my story into a new writing and re-posting it and I still don’t see it. What am I doing wrong?!
