Enter the From What I Remember Contest!

Kylie and Max have never been close, but one day they wake up in Mexico together. And they might have gotten married? Maybe? No one can remember exactly what happened the night before. Will (Kylie’s best friend) and Lily (Max’s girlfriend) are on their way, but what exactly are they walking in on? Little do any of them know that this is only the start of the adventures the four of them are about to have.

Inspired by Valerie Thomas and Stacy Kramer’s new novel From What I Remember, we have a contest for you!

Your challenge: write a story in 1,500 words or fewer in which something is forgotten. What happens to that thing (or person!) is up to you. Is it remembered? Is it lost forever? Your call!

How to enter:

1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on Figment.com.
3. Start a new writing of 1,500 words or fewer.
4. Tag your writing with FromWhatIRemember on the Details tab.

6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.

You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on May 29 to post and tag your story. Voting will run until 5:00 p.m. ET on June 6, at which point the 10 most-hearted entries will be sent to Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas, authors of From What I Remember, for judging.

  1. I have a story that I think would be a great for this. I would just have to change a few things.

Am I allowed to keep the original, but create a new writing of the edited version just for the contest? Thanks.

    • Hey Anna-

That’s fine, but the edited writing must be posted after the announcement of the contest, or it won’t be a valid entry.

  2. Question I have the perfect story I’ll edit it a little bit for word count but does it have to be my main character who forgets?

  3. I entered a story in this contest, and when I click on the tag I can find all of the entries including mine, but I never received the pop up thingy confirming my entry.
