Infinity Flash Fiction Week: Day Three

Adam, from Rachel Ward’s Infinity, has got your number. And that number is the day you’re going to die, which you better hope is far in the future.

It’s day three of our Infinity-inspired, calendar-centric flash-fiction contest. You’ve already written about the far future and the distant past. So you must know what is coming next: the less-distant past!

Your challenge: Write a story of 100 words or fewer, set on this date:

Today’s Date: December 31, 1924

You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on June 15, 2012 to enter. The Figment team will choose the 10 best entries from the entire week and send them to Rachel, who will choose one grand-prize winner to receive copies of NumbersThe Chaos, and Infinity, and a $25 Amazon gift card. For every daily prompt, the Figment team will also choose one winning entry. Each of those five writers will receive copies of Numbers, The Chaos, and Infinity.

How to Enter:

1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on Figment.com.
3. Start a new writing of 100 words or fewer.
4. Tag your writing with InfinityFlashContest and NumbersFlash3 on the Details tab.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.

    • Updated! We’ll still accept entries that use today’s prompt and the first day’s tag. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

    • Hey Margot-

The three reasons it might not show up:
-The story was created as a piece on Figment before the announcement of the contest
-The story is saved as a draft, not published
      -The story isn’t tagged correctly.

If you’ve checked all of these and you’re in the clear, your story has been entered!
