Infinity Flash Fiction Week: Day Five

It’s the final day of our Infinity flash-fiction contest, and you’ve written about times distant and even-more-distant.

Unfortunately, when Adam sees someone’s death-date, it often isn’t as far off as that person would like. So for today’s challenge, we’re giving you a date that’s a little more immediate. Your challenge: Write a story of 100 words or fewer, set on this date:

Today’s Date: June 15, 2012

You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on June 15, 2012 to enter. The Figment team will choose the 10 best entries from the entire week and send them to Rachel, who will choose one grand-prize winner to receive copies of Numbers, The Chaos, and Infinity, and a $25 Amazon gift card. For every daily prompt, the Figment team will also choose one winning entry. Each of those five writers will receive copies of Numbers, The Chaos, and Infinity.

How to Enter:

1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on Figment.com.
3. Start a new writing of 100 words or fewer.
4. Tag your writing with InfinityFlashContest and NumbersFlash5 on the Details tab.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.

  1. I didn’t get a pop-up confirmation, but I used both of the tags…
Is there any way to find out if my piece was entered?

    • As long as your story was posted on Figment after the announcement of the contest, is published and not saved as a draft, and is tagged correctly, you’re all set!

  2. Hi, I was just wondering why I didn’t get a pop up confirmation after I posted my entry. ‘m pretty sure I tagged it correctly.

    • Hey Joanna-

There are three things that could prevent a pop-up from generating.
      1. Your story was created on Figment before the announcement of the contest
      2. Your story is saved as a draft instead of published
      3. Your tag is not right

Check those three things and if they’re all set, you’re golden!

  3. i want to enter but i am only 11 i am worried that i will be way out beat
    is there age groups?
if there is not i might be disadvataged
