“Unholy Night” Contest Winners

Seth Grahame-Smith is the king of mash-ups.

Not mash-ups you hear on the radio, but literary mash-ups of epic proportions like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. His newest creation is Unholy Night, an action movie meets religious text.

We challenged you to create a mash-up of your own and found that Figs have master-mixing skills. After sending the 10 finalists to Seth-Grahame Smith’s editor, Ben, for judging, we are proud to announce the Grand Prize winner!

First place:
Silence by B.D. Legan

Ben says: “This is very well-structured, has a great voice, and it really, really creeps me out (which is the point)! Very effective horror and really hooks the reader in.”

Great job, B.D. Legan! You’ll be receiving a signed (!) copy of Unholy Night and a $10 Amazon gift card.

Second place:
The Madness of Crown Prince Sazaki by E.R. Warren

Awesome work, E.R. Warren! Your prize is a signed copy of Unholy Night and a Figment tote bag.

Third Place:
Wee Willie Winkie by Jessica Boesch

Way to go, Jessica! You’re getting a signed copy of Unholy Night.
