Throne of Glass Flash-Fiction: Day Three

Inspired by the richly detailed world of Ardalan in Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass, we’re challenging you to build a fantastic setting of your own this weekend. We’re already challenged you to create a ruler and an enemy, but characters don’t matter if nothing happens!

Today, we’re asking you to create an event. It could be a duel, a feast, a battle, or a picnic in a park! Write some action into your fantasy world.

Today’s Prompt: In 150 words of less, write about an event that takes place in your fantasy world. Tag your writing GlassFlash3 and ThroneofFlash.

You can enter one story for each day’s prompt. (If you respond to multiple prompts over the course of the challenge, those stories do not have to be related.)

You have until Sunday, August 26 at 11:59 p.m. ET to respond to all three prompts.

The Figment editors will choose one winning response to each day’s prompt; that story’s writer will receive a copy of Throne of Glass. We’ll also choose the five best stories overall to be featured on the Figment homepage!

Read the full instructions below, and get writing!
