Back to School Flash-Fiction Contest: Day 2

Have you already forgotten your locker combination? Gotten lost on the way to class? Tripped in front of your crush?

Getting back into the swing of things at school can be rough. To ease you back into it, we’re hosting a weeklong school-themed flash-fiction contest!

Today’s prompt: In 150 words or fewer, write a story told from inside a locker. Tag your story BacktoSchoolFlash and SchoolFlash2. You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 28 to enter.

You have 24 hours to enter a story in response to the prompt. You can enter one story for each day’s prompt. (If you respond to multiple prompts over the course of the challenge, those stories do not have to be related.)

The Figment editors will choose one winning response to each day’s prompt; that story’s writer will receive a super secret surprise book and their story will be featured on the Figment homepage!

1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on Figment.com.
3. Start a new writing of 150 words or fewer.
4. Tag your writing with BacktoSchoolFlash on the Details tab. Tag your writing SchoolFlash2.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.
