Back to School Flash-Fiction Contest: Day 3

You’ve written a story set on the front steps of school and from the inside of a locker. Today, we’re braving the wilds of the cafeteria. Mystery meat, social hierarchy, fluorescent lighting: There is so much great stuff to write about!

Today’s prompt: In 150 words or less, write a story set in a high-school cafeteria. Tag your story BacktoSchoolFlash and SchoolFlash3. You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 29 to enter.

You have 24 hours to enter a story in response to the prompt. You can enter one story for each day’s prompt. (If you respond to multiple prompts over the course of the challenge, those stories do not have to be related.)

The Figment editors will choose one winning response to each day’s prompt; that story’s writer will receive a super secret surprise book and their story will be featured on the Figment homepage!
