Labor Day Flash-Fiction Contest

It’s the last weekend of bonfires, beach days, and barbecues. Are you ready to say goodbye to summer yet?

No?

We didn’t think so. Hang on to the last moments of summer with our Labor Day Flash-Fiction Contest! All you need to do is write a story of 150 words or fewer that begins with the words: “It was the last weekend before …”

Five stories will be chosen by the Figment editors to be featured on the Figment homepage. This contest is open to all, including international users.

You have until Monday, September 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET to tag your story LaborDayFlash and be entered in the contest. Read the full rules and get writing!

  1. I’m sure I knew the answer to this before, but I can’t remember now. Are we allowed to edit our entries as long as it’s before the end of the entry period?

  2. So, how are the ones chosen for the Figment editors to evaluate chosen? Do they read every entry of just the top hearted ones?
