Libba Bray‘s new novel, The Diviners, is out on September 18. It’s the story of Evie O’Neil, a jazz baby in the ’20s who gets booted from her boring hometown and lands in New York City, where she falls into a glamorous swirl of parties, speakeasies, and Ziegfield girls. The only downside is that she has to live with her uncle Will, who runs the Museum of American Folklore, Superstition, and the Occult—better known around town as “The Museum of the Creepy Crawlies.” When a rash of gruesome, seemingly supernatural-inspired murders start breaking out around the city, Evie and Will (and a handsome boy or two, plus a chorus girl) find themselves in the the thick of the investigation—and Evie’s greatest secret may be the key to finding the killer . . . if he doesn’t find her first.
