One Direction fan-fiction contest

One Direction — Brett Robson, Global Photographics

Your challenge:
Write a short-short story set at a One Direction concert.

(You don’t have to be in the story if you don’t want to be.)


The grand-prize winner will win a $100 iTunes gift card and a One Direction t-shirt.
Twenty runners-up will receive a One Direction bracelet.

How to Enter:

1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on
3. Start a new writing of 250 words or less.
4. Tag your writing with OneDirection on the Details tab.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.

You have until Sunday, October 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET to enter your story. Voting will continue until Monday, November 5 at 5:00 p.m. ET. The top 50 most-hearted finalists will be read and judged by Figment staff!

  1. Um, some stories are already tagged “onedirection.” What happens then (usually tags are done really uniquely, like “throneofflash” or something)
