Wolf Pact Flash-Fiction Contest: Day Three

Lawson and his family are the descendants of ancient wolves, once the proud keepers of time. But he doesn’t know much about his family’s history. Lawson and his family were born into slavery—forced to live in the Underworld and do the bidding of Lucifer—and their masters didn’t educate them. When Lawson and the pack escape aboveground, they discover a whole world they never knew. And when they meet Arthur Beauchamp, a male warlock, he teaches them about their family’s amazing past.

Inspired by Melissa de la Cruz’s new series Wolf Pact (a spinoff of her popular Blue Bloods series), we’re hosting a weeklong flash-fiction contest! Each day we’ll be giving you a new prompt based on a plot line from the book. Your challenge: In 150 words or less, write a short scene about the prompt.

You have 24 hours to enter a story in response to the prompt. You can enter one story for each day’s prompt. (If you respond to multiple prompts over the course of the challenge, those stories do not have to be related.)

The Figment editors will choose the 10 best entries from the entire week and send them to Melissa, who will choose one grand-prize winner.

The grand-prize winner will receive eBook copies of all six titles in the Blue Bloods series (Blue BloodsMasqueradeRevelationsThe Van Alen LegacyMisguided Angel, and Lost in Time) from the iBookstore. Five daily winners will each receive an eBook copy of Lost in Timethe sixth book in the series.

  1. Does this something amazing have to be good? Or can that something amazing be like, finding out that you have a serial murderer as your great great great grandfather?
