Dark Star: Short-Story Contest

Audrey Whitticomb’s mother has an unusual job. She’s a superhero—the most deadly crime fighter in the Twin Cities. She’s known around town by her superhero name, Morning Star, and she even has a sidekick.

Audrey has always assumed that her mom just fought human bad guys. But it’s not as simple as that. Her mom is a member of the Kin, a group of people with special powers, who fight to keep the Twin Cities safe from the Harrowers—demons who live Beneath. Audrey is part of the Kin, too—and because of that, the Harrowers want her dead. It turns out that Audrey has a superpower of her own—one that could save the city and her family from the Harrowers—or it could completely destroy everything and everyone she loves.

  1. Oh, I replied to that user with my question by mistake, but my question still stands “How are these judged? I mean, I have no idea how you can even tell who is reading your stories because it has no read counter. Are they judged by someone?”

    • Hey Kevin-

The finalists are determined by heart count and the finalists are judged by the author of DARK STAR. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

  2. How long does it take for the conformation email? And do you just have to put darkstorycontest in the details tag, in lowercase? Sorry this is my first contest 🙂
