Hysteria: Weekend Flash-Fiction Contest

Hysteria by Megan MirandaAfter Mallory kills her boyfriend in self-defense, her parents ship her off to Monroe, a fancy boarding school with a haunted past. Legend has it that during Monroe’s annual initiation ceremony, a new student, Danvers Jack, wandered off into the woods near the student center—never to be seen again.

Mallory spends a lot of time in the woods around Monroe, trying to hide from her new classmates—and her problems. She’s haunted too, not by Danvers Jack, but by the ghost of her dead boyfriend.
