Your House, Your Rules: Night School Flash-Fiction Contest

Night School by C.J. DaughertyAllie Sheridan isn’t sure that she’s going to fit in at the prestigious Cimmeria Academy. The strict rules are certainly a change from her plugged-in life in London: No cell phone, no TV, and no more getting arrested (at least her parents’ hope). The banned items are just the beginning of the list of rules Allie receives her first day at Cimmeria, and she’s not sure she’ll ever learn them all. But she’s definitely interested to learn more about Night School, the Academy’s secret society, open to only a few select students — and strictly off-limits for newbies like Allie..

Inspired by Night School, by C.J. Daugherty, we have a flash-fiction contest for you this weekend!

Prompt

Imagine you ran a boarding school. In 150 words or fewer, write a list of rules that give your reader a sense of the type of school they’re attending.

You have until Monday, June 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET to enter your story. Tag your story RulesFlash.

  1. Hello, can the rules be explained in the form of a short story or do they have to be listed in a format with only the rules?
