Looking to the past can be a great source of inspiration for all writers. Bestselling author Ruta Sepetys, for example, found inspiration for her novel Out of the Easy from a pair of antique opera glasses that once belonged to a New Orleans madam.
In April, we challenged you to follow in Ruta’s footsteps by choosing an item from around your house (an old picture frame, a vase, a piece of jewelry that belongs to your mom, etc.) and creating a fictional history for it. You wrote some wonderful stories, Figment editors read them all, and now we’re pleased to announce the challenge winners!
Check out the winning stories below, and be sure to congratulate your fellow Figs!
