“New Adult” Guest of Honor Contest

 

Join us on Figment for a live chat on Monday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. ET as we talk with William Morrow editors Tessa Woodward and Amanda Bergeron, along with authors Molly McAdams (Stealing Harper) and Lisa Desrochers (Personal Demons, upcoming New Adult novel, A Little Too Far). They’ll share the ins and outs of this growing genre of “New Adult” and offer tips on how you could get published by William Morrow!

We’re super excited to chat with these authors about New Adult. And we’re giving you a chance to get your questions answered first! Win our mini writing contest and your question will be featured in our live chat.

Prompt (two parts!):

Sign Up for the ChatIn 50 words or fewer, describe your idea for a New Adult book. After your idea, include three questions you’d like to ask Tessa, Amanda, and Molly.

You idea and questions together should be no more than 150 words. Tag your writing NewAdultContest. You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 9 to enter.

Prizes:

Figment editors will be reading all the entries. Three winners will be announced during the New Adult author chat on Monday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Figment editors will choose one question from each winner, which the moderator will ask the panelists. Winners will also receive written feedback on their pitches from William Morrow editors.

How to Enter:

1. Read the full rules
2. Create an account on Figment.com.
3. Start a new writing of 150 words or fewer.
4. Tag your writing with NewAdultContest on the “Details” tab.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.

  1. Sorry, I am just one of those people who don’t like giving away ideas. My idea wouldn’t be taken, would it? Sorry, I am sure they wouldn’t, but I am an overcautious person.
