  1. So what you’re saying is, if the deadline and the date that the winners are chosen is the same, than this contest really isn’t a contest it is a sweepstakes? As in, the random drawing of ten stories that may or may not be qualified to win due to the lack of skill?

    • Sorry for the confusion, Sarah. The last day for an entry is May 2nd. That is not the day the winners will be chosen. Thanks for clarifying!

  2. I’m not sure… does it have to be about YOU time traveling, or just time travel? The wording’s a little confusing for me, sorry.

  3. Help! I can’t find the “Publish Now” button, so my entry doesn’t show up in the Contest! It shows up on my desk, but it incorrectly shows up as having zero words. ?!?!?!

  4. I have entered figment lies contest and am I allowed to enter this one to? Or is there only one contest I am allowed to plus I also am confused a bit on this… Does this have to be a true story or umm from imagination and also what is this pop up of confirmation? And where are the submissions located at?

  5. So, there was a contest that I was going to enter and I mentioned my email adress how it’s different on my figment account then the one I actually use. Well, I tried logging into that one and I’m locked out of it. So…..Not sure what to do.

Also, my the description and other questions My point of view by this contest is we can write anything about time travel? Correct?
Like us time traveling? or a character time traveling?

  6. How much editing can we do??? Because I’ve had 3 reviews so far, 2 of which basically said get rid of the entire thing and start over because it’s boring as anything I’ve ever read and I hated it. Yeah… It’s going beyond constructive criticism when someone literally says “I’d scrap the entire thing but for the last bit”. I just don’t want to get disqualified for editing my work…

    • Meh, people are just helping my story along. I’m just being me 😛 could you just get back to me on the edits??? I’d like to cut it back from three chapters to one and focus on just the one scene if that’s alright… I know in the past that some stories I haven’t been allowed to edit once I entered the contest so.

    • As long as your story is finished by the deadline, you will be fine! We won’t be reading any until the deadline. Thanks for checking in and good luck!

  7. Can we write about real historical events? If so, am I able to write in someone’s point of view who happened to be there and is real?

  8. I asked a question earlier but never got a reply. Does someone actually have to time travel? I’ve read a lot of stories where people mention the word time travel. Like I wish I could time travel or just mentioned a machine but no one actually went back in time. Does that count?

    • Hi Melissa, yes the story will need to be centered around Time Travel rather than just a simple mention. I hope that helps and good luck!

  9. When you tag your work for the contest do you capitalize. FigTimeTravel or figtimetravel or Fig Time Travel or fig time travel

Which one is the correct way?

  10. I entered my entry (with the right tag) before the deadline but it’s not showing up with the other entries? Got me worried it didn’t get entered…

Is it just taking longer than usual to show up on the ‘entries’ pages?

  11. Please help me know what’s going on with my entry? It is properly tagged and entered before the close date, yet it’s not showing up among the other entries. Can someone please tell me what’s going on? This is the second time I’ve ask…

    • Hi there! Normally it takes some time for your entry to show up in the entries list. If after 24 hours it still hasn’t shown up feel free to contact community@figment.com. However, I can confirm your story is properly tagged! Good luck!
