What would you do if you inherited millions of dollars?

In celebration of next month’s new release, We Were Liars by E. Lockhart, we have a brand new contest!

Ten winners will be chosen to win a copy of We Were Liars and have their stories featured in our weekly Newsletter, the Figment homepage and across our social media channels! Make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagramand Tumblr for the latest updates and good luck!

  1. I don’t ever see a pop-up confirmation no matter what I do when entering any of the contests. Does that mean that I am not entered? How do I know if it went through? I already submitted my story for this contest.

  2. If a contestant gets the most votes but all of the rules aren’t followed will they still get a chance to win? Like I saw a couple of entries where people found the money but did not inherit it and did not say what they would do with the money.

    • Hi Melanie, it isn’t a most-hearted contest so that won’t help their stories. However, if any story doesn’t follow the prompt it won’t be eligible to win. I hope that helps!

    • For the contest, it will need to be 750 and below. However, you are welcome to continue writing after the contest ends. Good luck!

  3. Does the money have to be INHERITED? Can someone come into money without inheriting it (eg: finding it, winning the lottery, etc.)?

  4. Why do you keep erasing my comment???? If its not a most hearted contest then why does it say that the top 100 most hearted entries are eligible to win?

    • Hi Melanie,
For this specific contest the top 100 stories will be read and judged to win. Most of the time a story with even 1 heart will make it to the top 100 hearted. If you have any additional suggestions for contest theme or judging changes please feel free to let us know in the forums. We have been reading each post! Thanks so much for commenting.

  5. I entered my story, but I am not sure if I entered, as I never got the pop-up notification. Is it up, or should I try to publish it again?

  6. Will you be drawing the winner from random or will you pick by seeing which is the best? Please tell me your going to be picking because drawing is not a contest its a sweepstakes.

  7. Will you be judging the books and picking the winner or will you be drawing from random? Please tell me you will be judging!

  8. I start my story on word, then cop and paste it onto figment. For some weird reason it’s gone from around 750 to 400. Is there a reason? Thank you.

    • Hi Julia, I’m not quite sure what the disconnect is. Are you noticing anything different? Try pasting one paragraph at a time to make sure you aren’t missing anything. Good luck!

  9. Hi I will be at a school camp when the entries are chosen and i’m not saying i will win because i have alot of good competition but i won’t get to go on figment till friday afternoon they day they are chosen or saturday the day after they are chosen. 🙂 I wish well to the winners!!!!

  10. I submitted mine yesterday night shortly before midnight, but it is not appearing in the submissions. Also, I never get a pop-up confirmation, does that mean my piece was not entered?

  11. Hey wasn’t the winners suppose to be chosen on friday or are you guys still trying to read them all? Sorry if this seems pushy. Xx
