Each week we will be featuring one member for their outstanding contributions to the Figment community.
This week we’re featuring Headintheclouds! Check out five of her stories along with her interview questions below!
What do you enjoy most about Figment and its community?
- Connecting with other writers. I love it here! Figment has become my writer home.
What is your favorite story that you have shared on Figment and why?
- ‘Swap’. If you read it you’ll know why. It’s a parody with an underlying theme (Figment’s ‘swap vs anti-swap’ debate), something most Figs can probably relate to.
Where do you find inspiration to write and keep writing?
- Whenever I’m crazy frustrated, I end up stalking my favorite authors. I read their blogs, visit their websites and—in the case of Figment authors—bug them unmercifully for new stories and advice.
What is the last book that you read?
- In the midst of several:
‘The Etiquette of Tea’ by Linda D.
‘Seeing Double’ by LR Bauer
‘The True Tales of Robin Hood’ by Cassie Rose
‘Seeds of Treachery’ by Rachael Durbin
Do you have any advice for other Figgies looking to improve their writing?
- Concerning characters, learn the difference between your voice and theirs. Let them tell their story and not the story you want them to tell. Be aware of their moods and motivations and the ‘why’ behind their actions.
Congratulations again and thank you for sharing your talent, inspiration and advice with us! Be sure to check out some of her work below.
