Featured Fig: Sean Crone

Each week we will be featuring one member for their outstanding contributions to the Figment community.

This week we’re featuring Sean Crone! Check out five of their stories along with their interview answers below!

What do you enjoy most about Figment and its community?

  • The thing I love most about figment and its community is the community itself. It’s a superb way for young/amateur authors to come together, learn off of each other, celebrate with one another, and help everyone not feel so self conscious about their work.

What is your favorite story that you have shared on Figment and why?

  • My favorite story I’ve ever shared on figment would probably be “The Fallen Will Rise Again.” This was the first time in a long time since I’ve written anything and I just wrote it on a whim after seeing the Game of Lives contest. It’s fun to read this story in comparison with my earlier works for me to understand how far I’ve come and how far I still have to go.

Where do you find inspiration to write and keep writing?

  • Pretty much everywhere. When I’m not writing stories I’m writing music for films, trailers, and video games (or at least music geared towards that genre). The same principle applies for both. I write because that’s what gives me most enjoyment and inspiration comes from all around.

What is the last book that you read?

  • The last book I read was Rick Riordan’s newest piece, Sword of Summer. I love his work.

Do you have any advice for other Figgies looking to improve their writing?

  • The only advice I have for other figgies is to really not give up. You may think that your writing isn’t good or that you’ll never be good enough but that’s honestly the one false belief that stops writers early in their career. We all start somewhere, where we finish lies with us. We can either give in to our insecurities and never know how far we could’ve gotten or push forward no matter what life tells us and find out for ourselves when we make it. Don’t give up!

Congratulations again and thank you for sharing your talent, inspiration and advice with us! Be sure to check out some of their work below.

Congratulations again!
