Featured Fig: Wyatt Jaymes

Each week we will be featuring one member for their outstanding contributions to the Figment community.

This week we’re featuring Wyatt Jaymes! Check out five of their stories along with their interview answers below!

What do you enjoy most about Figment and its community?

  • What I love the most about Figment is its extraordinary amount of mystifying content from an array of multiple figgies. I absolutely love my fellow figgies. I like how their comments and reviews can help me to do better. Their likes and dislikes have helped me to become a better writer. I get really happy whenever I get a comment or review on one of my stories because that means I get to hone my writing talent.

What is your favorite story that you have shared on Figment and why?

  • My favorite story that I’ve shared on Figment is When Cithians Attack. Because it was my first fully completed story and my first try at being a self-published writer and I also loved all the hearts and comments on it. They helped me to establish it as a good piece of literature.

Where do you find inspiration to write and keep writing?

  • I find inspiration in the nature and my friends. I have based many of my characters on some of my friends. My friends on Figment are the only reason I have kept writing because if it wasn’t for them, then I would’ve quit writing a long time ago.

What is the last book that you read?

  • The last book I read was The Gateway Trilogy Book one: Night Gate. It was about a girl and her five dogs and one goat that found a secret passageway to another world called: The Valley.

Do you have any advice for other Figgies looking to improve their writing?

  • In the time I have been on figment, my advice to my fellow figgies is: develop your characters and that means treating them like they’re real people. Know their strengths, weaknesses, limitations, likes, dislikes, their personalities and even their fears.

Congratulations again and thank you for sharing your talent, inspiration and advice with us! Be sure to check out some of their work below.

Congratulations again!

Let us know who you think should be our next Featured Fig!
