You watch as he crosses the street. Under the dark hoodie and jeans, you realize that he is heavily muscled, but lean. Like a runner. You feel your arms and stomach. You’re built the same way; all coiled energy.
He extends his arms for a hug when he approaches you. You tentatively return the embrace. The contact sends chills across your skin and your head begins to ache.
He pulls away and looks at you. “C’mon, not now.” He grabs your hand and pulls, heading back toward the park where you came. “We need to get your memory shot before you forget again.” You’re running, fast. You run toward a black van, but as you near it, you feel your knees give out. You slump, but the boy catches you. You hear him mutter a curse. Your eyes slide closed.
You wake up in a car next to a boy. He looks strong, but his body is pretty well hidden underneath his black hoodie.
“Who are you? Where are we going?”
