Girls Write Now is an organization of women writers who mentor high school girls in New York City. We at Figment think they’re a wonderful group, and we’re particularly thrilled about their CHAPTERS series. CHAPTERS is a forum for local teenage writers and professional writers, and gives them a place to read and discuss their craft.
At the last CHAPTERS event on March 25th, author Emma Straub (who recently published the short-story collection Other People We Married) was interviewed by Nehanda, one of the program’s mentees.

For those in the New York City area, the next CHAPTERS event will take place on this Friday, April 29th from 6-8 PM at the Historic John Street Church. Reading this month will be Anna North, author of America Pacifica. Click here for more information. We hope to see fellow Figmenters there; if you attend, tweet us @figmentfiction !
