Welcome to Figment, your place to write yourself in (and to win!) By entering our exclusive Zinch-Figment Childhood Memories Contest, you have the resume-boosting chance to have your writing read by almost a quarter of a million people!
So what do you have to do? Just write 200 words or fewer about a smell, taste, or sound that you remember from childhood. Sounds doable right?
To get started, you’ll need to sign-up for a Figment account, here. Use the same email address you used for the Zinch scholarship, so we know that you’re one of the select VIPs eligible to enter! Figment accounts are free, easy, and oodles of fun. How much is an oodle? Not sure. But we’re that, of fun.
How to Enter:
1. Read the full rules.
2. Create an account on Figment.com.
3. Start a new writing of 200 words or fewer about a smell, taste, or sound that you remember from childhood.
4. Tag your writing with ZinchChildhood on the Details tab.
5. Press “Publish Now.”
6. You should receive a pop-up confirmation of your entry, and in about two hours or so, your piece should appear among the submissions.
Entries are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on June 7, 2012. You’ve got one week to enter, so hurry. Five winners will receive $25 Amazon gift cards and be featured on the Figment homepage. And one grand-prize winner will also see his or her story in the Figment newsletter, delivered weekly to more than 200,000 people. Winners will be chosen by the Figment editorial team. Good luck!
