    • No, you just need to make a note (in your description or in the first line) of the numbers so that we know which pictures you used.

  1. Hi,
On the Fright and Write website it says the tag is supposed to be #halloween1 but when you press on the link for the tab it says halloween1 which tag is it supposed to be?

  2. I am still a little confused. One of my fig friends told me that it is the 10 most hearted pieces that will be judged by figment and only the ten most hearted. Is this wrong? 🙂

    • There are several contests going on right now:
      1. The Steampunk Classic Contest: the top ten most-hearted stories will be judged by Fig mods. The top ten most-hearted illustrations will be judged by Manuel Sumberac and Zdenko Basic.
      2. The Steampunk Poe Contest: all entries judged by Fig mods.
      3. 13 Days of Halloween: all entries judged by Fig mods.

Sorry for the confusion! Hope this helps…

  3. Sorry to have on question after another, but I was reading the Fright & Write page and realized that it said to write a 250 word STORY. Does this mean a poem would not count? 🙁

  4. We can write poems for the halloween contest? Darn, I thought it was only stories! Oh well.

    Can we submit multiple entries?

  5. I didn’t know if it was a REAL haunted house, or one of those fake ones used to get money from people looking for a scare, so I went with real. And my character’s lying down (in a sleeping bag). Not walking.
    Dunno if that’s ok.

  6. I put up a poem for the halloween4 contest and I am not seeing my entry on the page, I did it 8 hours ago. Can anyone tell me why that is. P.S. I did tag halloween4 in the tag box.

  7. Even if you win one day, can you still do the prompts for fun? Because I won yesterday and I still want to do them. It is fun and good practice for my writing.

  8. I’m just wondering what’s in these tote bags. they seem so popular is it just a bunch of stuff for halloween? Please someone answer my question. 🙂

    • Hi Elizabeth!

Nothing’s in the tote bags except for a whole lot of Figment love :). They have the Figment logo printed on them and they are SUPER cool.

  9. Um I was just wondering, the latest winner used the words “abandoned” and “ghost” in their story but those were two of the words we weren’t supposed to use. Why did she win?

To the winner: Your entry was really good I just thought we weren’t supposed to use those words.

  10. Umm… latest winner Maria Connors used the word abandoned in her story, even though the prompt said she couldn’t.

  11. Hi the winning story for halloween 12 had the words “abandoned” and “ghost” in it, and not that the story wasn’t a really good one, it just said specifically in the prompt not to use those two words plus “old” and “haunted”. Can you please explain?

  12. It seems this contest is taking an oddly long amount of time to be judged. I keep seeing new contests announced, new finalists, and new winners, but never for this contest. I am slightly worried, is this truly being judged?

    • Hi Lydia,

If you are referring to the Steampunk: Poe contest, the winners will be announced very soon! We appreciate your patience.
