Gabrielle Zevin Contest Finalists!

In All These Things I’ve Done, Gabrielle Zevin wrote about a dystopic world in which coffee and chocolate are banned (oh, cruel, cruel world!!!), and for the Gabrielle Zevin Contest, we asked you to write about a place where something that’s commonplace today has been declared illegal. Thankfully, I don’t think anyone made carrots or Friday illegal, because then the world would have come to an end (and Rebecca Black would no longer have a career). These top 10 entries will be sent to author Gabrielle Zevin for final judging, so stay tuned for the results!

The finalists, in no particular order, are (drumroll please):
“No Siblings Allowed” by Jana Garrow
“Unnecessary Questions” by Amanda Ricketson
“Use Your Voice” by Miranda
“Without Art” by thefrankie the phucking moron
“Give Me Color” by Salina Lopez
“Apples Are Red” by *Ariel*
“Hugs and Kisses” by Carlene B.
“Color Thieves” by Blazin’ Andy (Andrea C.)
“Watercolor Ghost” by Ariadne
“Baby Doll” by Joannie

Finalists please note: before you can be declared the winner of a contest, you must return a signed affidavit that will be sent to you via email, so check your email regularly!

  1. “Finalists please note: before you can be declared the winner of a contest, you must return a signed affidavit that will be sent to you via email, so check your email regularly!”

    What’s up with that?

  2. Is it just me, or do these contests seem kind of unfair? It always seems like the people with the most followers get the most votes, so they move up to be finalists, and not the people with less followers. Plus, once you’re on page 2, people stop reading your stuff, and then you’re pretty much stuck with the number of hearts you have.

    How’s that fair?

I’m not trying to be annoying, I’m just pointing something out that I’ve noticed. Sorry about that.

    Congratulations to the winners!
