It can be said that writers feed on language, that they gorge themselves on words. But you know what writers also like? Food. Real food. Usually Nutella-based food.
The best of both worlds? Writing about food. It’s a thriving form of writing that requires a specific skill set, and, for the first time in Figment HISTORY, we’re offering a writing class on the site to help you gain those skills. Peanut Butter and the Pen: Intro to Food Writing will run for six weeks (July 11-August 15). Each week you’ll have new readings, writing assignments, and feedback from your instructor and fellow students. By the end of the session, you’ll have a portfolio of several polished pieces of original food writing. Tasty!
Sondra Hall, the founder and director of “Take My Word for It!” an acclaimed writing program in the San Francisco Bay Area, is heading up the class. Join fellow Figs in learning and sharpening your edible edicts and your nommable nomenclature. If you’re looking to hone your writing and learn a little this summer, click on for details!
