Time Between Us: Short-Story Contest

When Anna first meets Bennett, she’s immediately drawn to him, but she can’t figure out if he’s into her. Sometimes, he seems interested. Other times, not so much. When he finally admits that he can time travel—and that he’s from the future—she understands why he’s been acting kind of funny. It’s 1995 and he’s from 2012. At any minute, he could be knocked back to where he belongs. But until then, Anna and Bennett decide to take advantage of Benett’s powers and have a few time-traveling adventures together.

  1. This sounds an awful lot like the to you contest… But it’s awesome that there are no hearts needed. Um, are we allowed to have one piece entered into two contests as long as it fits the prompt? Just checking… I’m kinda new here so I wasn’t sure…

  2. I have a question about the second and third place prizes. What if those winners don’t have an eBook? Because I know that a lot of users don’t have them, and if they came in second or third, that prize would be basically useless to them. Is there some sort of replacement prize?

    • eBooks can be read from eReaders, smartphones, and computers. Any device you can use to access the internet can be used to read eBooks.

  3. The short story doesn’t have to have anything to to with “Time Between Us” right? It can be anything we like so long as it has the time traveler piece in it?

  4. Hi, having a problem with my entry. It’s been a while longer than 2 hours and I’m unsure of whether or not I entered correctly. My entry is Out of Time, Out of Mind. Is there any other way to confirm that I’m entered in the contest?

    • Hey!

As long as your entry is:
      -Tagged correctly
-Published (not saved as a draft)
-Created after the announcement of the contest

      You’re all set!

  5. Hi! Does it have to be exactly 1200 words or under? My book is 10 words over the limit, and I really want to make sure so I can edit it

  6. So, just wondering what the status on this contest is. Are you all still reading entries, trying to pick a winner, or already done yet? Where are you and do you have any idea when you’ll be done?

    • Unfortunately, we’re unable to speak to the current stage of the judging process, but as soon as winners are determined, they’ll be announced.

      Best,
      Emily

      • Well I’d really like to know, because when I wrote my contest entry, I wrote it as a part of a larger story and I’ve been working on that larger story and would like to start putting it up. Is it alright if I leave the contest entry alone as the first chapter and then start entering the full story version after it?
