Carey Blackburn has grown up deep in the Tennessee forest, living with her baby sister and her mentally-ill, drug-addicted mother. They have no running water or electricity, very little food, and Carey’s mom comes and goes as she pleases, sometimes leaving the girls alone for months at a time.
Everything changes when their mother disappears for good, and Carey’s father—practically a stranger—takes them to re-enter the real world. This real world is comforting (plenty of food, clean clothes, and a warm place to sleep), but also terrifying (navigating high school, interacting with boys, dealing with a stepsister).
You have until Friday, April 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET to enter. Ten winners will be chosen at random to receive a copy of the book. Read the full raffle rules here.
