You Look Different in Real Life Five Day Flash-Fiction Contest

jennifer castleEveryone knows Justine, Felix, Rory, Keira, and Nate. At age six, they were chosen to participate in Five at Six, a documentary that takes a peek into the details of five kindergarteners’ lives. The documentary was a huge success, and Five at Eleven was even bigger. Now, it’s time for Five at Sixteen, and the group of cute kids has transformed into five teenagers who have drifted apart since Five at Eleven. Changed by their fame and the drama of their teen years, the five get together again to show the world who they are.

Details

Inspired by the documentaries in You Look Different in Real Life by Jennifer Castle, we’ve got a five-day flash-fiction contest for you. You have until midnight the following day to respond to the prompt with a scene of no more than 150 words written from the perspective of a character who is that age. (Deadlines will be posted with the prompts.) You can enter one story per prompt. The stories do not have to be related.

  1. Should the confirmation pop-up come right away? (sorry, I’m relatively new to the contest part of the site)

    • Yes, but if you didn’t see a pop-up, just make sure your is tagged properly, published, and created between the announcement and close of the entry period.

  2. I entered the contest for days three and four, and added the appropriate tags, but even so my work is not showing up underneath their appropriate tags when I search them. Does that mean I’m not entered even though I submitted them on time?

    • As long as it is tagged properly, published, and created between the announcement and close of the entry period, you’re set!
