Quiz: Who is your Literary Boyfriend?

    • I got him too! I love hime! As a littl ekid watching pride and prejudice, I decided that Mr. Darcy would be my dream man.

    • Not fair! I got Edward Cullen (whom I more or less hate) and shrugged it off because I told myself there were probably no good results. But then one of the two I would actually have told you had you asked the quiz’s question shows up as a possibility!

      • I’ve only seen the old version of Pride and Prejudice (the one from the eighties, yes) and so when I got Mr. Darcy, I’m kinda like . . . uh . . . SUPER NO NO NO NO! He’s really creepy in the old version. He doesn’t even smile until the last 20 seconds of the movie. Kinda cold.
Then again, looking at other people’s results, I guess there aren’t that many good choices . . . I mean, c’mon, why isn’t Legolas on this list? Or Gale, at least!

        • I got Mr. Darcy and was ecstatic. But can I trade him out for his modern version Taylor Anderson from Jenni James “Pride and Popularity”?

        • So jealous!! And YES – there should so be Gale and Legolas. The only reason my choice isn’t on there is because the book isn’t amazingly well known – Fire by Kristin Cashore. Brigan should SO be on this quiz.

          • I LOVE that book. I would say Archer, but I’d probably end up punching him in the face.

      • right with you. I was disappointed with my answer. Will’s funny, and I can’t stop smiling whenever I read about him. However, I am hopelessly in love with Jem as well. I know how tessa feels… They should have Will and Jem.

    • Oh I got him also! He has been my literary crush since eighth grade and character crush since I was 5 years old. #teamDarcy

  1. Lol!!! Mr Darcy! Didn’t enjoy his pride at first, but then as the secrets stated unfolding, that was when I realized that there was something under that brooding exterior. XD

    • Heathcliff is the main male character from Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. He was adopted by a family and later fell in love with his adopted sister, Cathy, who married someone else because Heathcliff had no prospects at the time. After a serious fight with Cathy, Heathcliff left to make his fortune. A few years later, he returns a wealthy man and tries to take Cathy for his own, despite the fact that she is already married. Cathy dies as a result of a nervous disorder brought on by a combination of her own difficult personality and stress from the conflict between her husband and lover and Heathcliff is never the same again. The whole book is basically about the misery brought to Cathy and Heathcliff, as well as those around them, as a result of their love, a love that manages to endure despite this and all other obstacles.

  2. I got Heathcliff… I’ve never read the books with characters based off him yet, or the original book for that matter, but… He seems very okay from the description~ :3

  3. Heathcliff…passionate, romantic, a little bit intense? Never really thought of myself as that kind of person, but whatever…

  4. What is wrong with me??? I keep getting Edward Cullen, except the time when I got Heathcliff!!! Two of my least favorite romantic heroes, though Heathcliff is creepier… I mean, I agree that I’m a total romantic, and maybe a little bit of a pushover, but…ugh.

  5. I got Heathcliff. You’re passionate, romantic, and a little bit intense—Heathcliff would totally be your boyfriend. You could spend your days roaming the moors, staring deeply into each other’s eyes. THIS SOUNDS AMAZING!!! I have no idea who Heathcliff is though….

    • I got Heathcliff too I read Withering Heights but I don’t really remember it cause it was years ago or I would tell you about him lol

  6. I didn’t get edward cullen!! yay!! i got heathcliff. lol i think he could be my bf. but i am an uncultured fool and haven’t actually read the book yet… sigh… i’ll get to that eventually maybe.

  7. First time I got Edward Cullen, and I was like, NO. NO WAY IS HE MY BOYFRIEND. So I took it again, changing the answers for the ones I have two for, and….

    RON WEASLEY!

Yes! Ha ha, way better. <3

  8. Mr. Darcy

You’re super smart, witty, and you need a boyfriend who would keep you on your toes. The polite, clever, and slightly brood-y Mr. Darcy would be the perfect match for you.
You love a good romance, so you should definitely pick up
Catherine by April Lindner, a modern retelling of Wuthering Heights.
HAHA YAY I LOVE PRIDE AND PREJUDICE!! :D hehe so happy lol
glad i didn’t get edward cullen twilight sucks!!!!

I got Mr. Darcy too, even though I don’t like the book that much.

  9. This is what my sister Ashlyn (also on Figment she’s Ashlyn Tomlinson) got :D even though she gave up reading Harry Potter and I will never forgive her for it:
    Your Result:
    Ron Weasley

You’re fun-loving and a little silly, but at the end of the day, you’re a dedicated friend. Ron Weasley would be the perfect boyfriend for you.
You love a good romance, so you should definitely pick up
Catherine by April Lindner, a modern retelling of Wuthering Heights.

    • Read Wuthering Heights and you’ll know who he is. Great literature there. It’s so good it makes Twilight look like toilet paper.

    • I got Ron too!! I am so happy!! Funny thing is in Jr. High one of my friends called me Hermione because of my wavy hair and I had all A’s.

      • Same here, I had a bob in elementary school, and everyone called me Velma (scooby doo) and then I let it grow out in high school and they called me Hermione. But I don’t mind because they’re both smart, like me, and I love both Harry Potter and Scooby-Doo. :)

  10. I got Edward. Seriously? I hate Twilight! I think this is probably a just representation of my boyfriend, because it would never be someone I would actually WANT to be with and I’d end up maiming or killing them in the end. -_-

  11. Heathcliff! xD Well, their description of me is accurate enough…I just don’t think I’d be able to put up with him, honestly. I never could stand guys who stared intensely into my eyes. ;)

  12. Oh my God Heathcliff!!!!! Only one of my most favorite literary male figures!!! Ah I am so happy!!!! I love you Heathcliff!!

  13. I was burdened with Mr. Darcy. Though I do pity all you who have got Edward Cullen. I ould much rather like Mr. Rochester.

  14. i got Heathcliff…not too bad, but he’s kinda creepy and overbearing…I would of liked to get Sherlock or Leo valdez or something…idk

  15. I’m sorry but even if Heathcliff was real, I would NOT want to stare deeply in his eyes. I don’t even kniw who Heathcliff is..

  16. Ron Weasly for me. Odd, never considered him before. Though I think he’s cute. And I love the “Follow the spiders? Why couldn’t it be follow the butterflies?/Can we panic now?” Lines in the second movie. And of course, English accents rock XD

  17. The first time I took this quiz, I got Darcy. Every other time after that, I’ve gotten Heathcliff. I’m happy either way. :)

  18. what the … edward cullen youw wish…. i thought this would have awesome people like ron and harry and all them not sparkling fairies

  19. i got ron weasly. lol! i could actually see how that would work. *shrugs* we are both scared of spiders so thats a good start :)

  20. Oh Doctor, MY Doctor, where are you now that I need you? I don’t want this Heathcliff person, I want you!

    Oh, and Tobias from Divergent/Insurgent

  21. You know Mr. Darcy has always fascinated me as a character. In reading Pride and Prejudice I fell very hard for him so it doesn’t surprise me very much that I got him.

  22. Ok, I have 3 things to say first off, I got Ron Weasly who is super cute and super funny, 2nd I can’t believe they put Kristin Stewert on there cuz she is a bad actor even The Master from “Doctor Who.” Has more facial expression than her and 3rd If I know some of you are twilight fans so PLEASE don’t kill me when I say that I am no fan of twilight and I would take the quiz again so that I get someone else cuz I am no twilight fan.

  23. Mr. Darcy!!!! YESSSSS!!!!! I LOVE Pride and Prejudice!!! Okay, fine… maybe I picked the answers that I knew would get me Mr. Darcy…. ;D

    • Apparently, he is like the ideal image of a romantic but can do some pretty intense actions when it comes to winning over the one he loves.

    • Wuthering Heights? Emily Bronte? Ring a bell? It’s a great book, super romantic, definitely worth the read.

I got him too, and I’m sooo happy! :) He’s just so hot and passionate and… sigh…

  24. Heathcliff
You’re passionate, romantic, and a little bit intense—Heathcliff would totally be your boyfriend. You could spend your days roaming the moors, staring deeply into each other’s eyes.
You can never go wrong with a hot gypsy who cant decide between being a hero or villain.

  25. I ended up with Mr. Darcy, which is pretty neat. I really liked him when I read the book, cause he had lots of great lines and was a quieter, witty guy :D

But…being a person who reads unheard-of books…sorry, Mr. Darcy, I think I’m in love with Chris from Aunt Maria…but he’d never turn up on a quiz…maybe once in a blue moon or something like that.

  26. I have to say that none of the boys listed here for literary boyfriends are anyone I’d go out with…I tell you who I WOULD say yes to, but he’s never appeared on any quiz or whatnot. That is, Jem Carstairs!!! <3

  27. EDWARD FRIGGIN CULLEN?!?! Nu-uh, if I’m destined to be with a vampire, it sure as hell better be Damon Salvatore! >8[ It could also be Emmet, if it HAS to be from Twilight…DAMN he’s hot :3

  28. RHETT BUTLER BABY!!! Dude I love him so much, he’s like the guy who started the whole “Tall, dark, and handsome” deal. Totally my friends.

  29. how funny that I got Emmett first, then Edward. I keep getting the supernatural, but what better companion for a Time Lady? they’ll never die, unless they get on somebody’s bad side! ;)

  30. Got Edward the first time an was like “NOOOOO YOU DIE FAIRY SPARKLING VAMP!” then I did it again and got Ron. Phew

  31. HEATHCLIFF YESSSSS!!!! I’ve taken the quiz a bunch of times to see if it was actually right. And it’s Heathcliff Darcy every time!

  32. Mr. Darcy? Wow, he was not who I was expecting. But he is like me…so I guess he’ll do…but there are other literary men that are like me too. Oh well, he’s alright.

  33. Mr. Darcy???
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
I don´t want him! He is so dull and boring and I am not THAT old!!!

  34. I got Ron, then I did it again I got Edward Cullen.
I’d prefer Ron although, I’d love to meet slice and be beautiful forever LOL

  35. Mr. Darcy… and this is me not giving a crap because I hate romance novels. I’m just glad I didn’t get Edward because he is a boring, abusive jerkface.

If I had to choose… it would be…. *drumroll* KARKAT VANTAS! As a moirail! We’d be the palest of pals. Screw matespritship, he’s underage anyway. :U

  36. Ron Weasley. Well, I guess that’s better that what I could’ve gotten *cough cough* Edward Cullen *cough cough*

  37. Ronald Weasly, funny, I took the sorting hat and I am in Ravenclaw. Long distance relationships never work out :(

  38. heaTHCLIff??///?//??//?/???
    whaT.
I am not going to go out with some whiny guy who stares intensely into my eyes and wanders the moors at night. I am sorry, but it is sOOOO not happening.
Grantaire would my lit boyfriend, if I were Enjolras.

  39. *fist pump* Mr.Darcy! And my name just happens to be Elisabeth. Hope I don’t have to go through a whole lot of Wickhams before this happens

  40. RONNNN! :D
“You’re fun-loving and a little silly, but at the end of the day, you’re a dedicated friend. Ron Weasley would be the perfect boyfriend for you. “

  41. RON WEASLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I’m the only one who got someone good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  42. Cullen? THE Edward Cullen? Sparkles? *puts on sunglasses* That’s not what I had in mind- but alright.

  43. I can’t believe I got CULLEN!!!!!!!!!! That’s not even anywhere close to right! I was hoping for Ron. :( I’m taking it again.

  44. YES!!!!! Ron Weasley!!! Definitely who should be my fictional boyfriend!!! Wouldn’t mind Rupert in real life either.

  45. Heathcliff? Heathcliff?! HEATHCLIFF! 8D Words cannot describe my joy. Although the relationship will probably end badly…still, awesome!

  46. I did not relate to any of these answers they have out, so it was hard for me to choose.
I would never look up to Kate Moss as a fashion icon. Maybe Pink or Lady Gaga.
So I highly doubt that Heathcliff is right.

  47. Doesn’t it make you sad that everyone knows who people like Edward Cullen is, and yet few people know who Heathcliff, from Wuthering Heights (real, good ole literature), is?

I am slowly losing faith in humanity…

    :(

  48. My literary twin is Lizzie Bennet. My literary family is the Bennets. And, okay, I took the quiz a second time (but seriously I HATE Heathcliff! I just couldn’t accept that answer, and besides a good half of the choices were possible answers for me, so…) anyway my literary boyfriend is Mr. Darcy.

I’m not sure what all this means, but I think I might consider re-reading Pride and Prejudice to prepare for the big choices coming up in my life.

  49. Since when is Edward Cullen “literary”? Sorry, am I being a snob?

I think it’s BECAUSE I’m a “total romantic” that I am not happy with this at all. . . :P

  50. Okay, so I’m “passionate” and “a little intense”. But I am sane enough to wonder if Heathcliff is really a smart choice for any girl to become romantically entangled with!

  51. EDWARD (FREAKIN’) CULLEN!!! OMFG!!! ( party and . . . party!!!) I got Edward Cullen!!! YAY!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! Party is in the house tonight! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

  52. Am I the only one who got Ron Weasley? I mean really, how many people got Edward?! Ick! That’s just scary. Edward and Bella can die in a ditch for all I care. I don’t mean to be rude, but really now. That’s just messed up.

  53. I’ve taken this quiz about fifteen times now, giving pretty much completely different answers. And it keeps throwing the same guy at me. That would bee cool, only in this case I certainly hope it’s not destiny because it’s Heathcliff. Mr. Moody-Abusive-Obsessive-and Downright Bizarre – oh, and he kills puppies. So romantic.

  54. EWWW!!! RON WEASLEY IS SO UGLY!!! Amazingly, Nevil actually turned out hot. Looked up pictures of nevil from harry potter 2013

  55. Your Result:

    Mr. Darcy

    Mr. Darcy

You’re super smart, witty, and you need a boyfriend who would keep you on your toes. The polite, clever, and slightly brood-y Mr. Darcy would be the perfect match for you.

  56. Ron Weasley.
Though the fact that I got one of the Weasley brothers in general excites me – I do believe I would trade him for Fred.

  57. s any consolation, men are not good in handling heartaches.
He is going to come to realize you are doing well even without him.
One of the signs that your ex boyfriend is still in love with you is if he often contacts you.

  58. Edward… seriously? That one time I flicked it to a channel with a random twilight movie and saw–sparkles and the line ‘you’re…beautiful.’ -.- I held in an enormous amount of laughter and embarrassment for the shoddy actor having to actually say that line. I think it couldn’t get any more cheesier than grating cheese with my teeth. Sparkles??? LMAO! No, just no.
